Javier Sánchez Vicario (born February 1, 1968 in Pamplona ) is a former Spanish tennis player .

Career

He turned pro in 1986 and won his first professional tennis tournament in 1987. He was able to achieve his first individual tournament victory in 1988 in Buenos Aires . His highest place in the world rankings was 23rd in singles (1994) and 9th in doubles (1990).

Javier Sánchez's sister Arantxa and his brother Emilio were also successful tennis players.

His last single title was in Tel Aviv in 1996 and his last double title was in 1999 in Umag .

In 2000, Javier Sánchez resigned from tournament tennis.
