The Monte Carlo Open 2000 was the 94th edition of the traditional Monte Carlo tournament . The clay court tournament took place as part of the ATP Masters Series from April 17 to April 24, 2000 in the Monte Carlo Country Club in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France. The main field in singles consisted of 64 participants, in doubles accordingly from 32 pairings. The prize money was $ 2,950,000.

The defending champion in the singles was the Brazilian Gustavo Kuerten , who was left behind in the first round against Karol Kučera . The Frenchman Cédric Pioline won the tournament and was able to win a masters tournament for the first and only time in his career after two failed finals. In the 2000 season it was his second title.

The doubles tournament was won by Yevgeny Kafelnikow and Wayne Ferreira , who in this constellation were able to record their second double success in master tournaments .
