President's Cup 2000

The President's Cup 2000 was the 4th edition of the tennis clay court tournament in Tashkent . The tournament was part of the ATP series as the International Series tournament . It took place together with the Gelsor Open Romania in Bucharest from September 11th to 17th, 2000. The prize money for both singles and doubles was $ 500,000. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

Defending champion in the singles was the German Nicolas Kiefer , who did not take part in the tournament this year. Instead, the second seeded Russian Marat Safin won his sixth title of the season and the seventh of his career.

In doubles, the two Americans Justin Gimelstob and Scott Humphries won . You succeeded the Uzbeks Oleg Ogorodov and Marc Rosset from Switzerland. Ogorodov failed with his Sargis Sargsian in the first round this year . It was the first joint title for the two Americans, but both were able to celebrate a title in the season with other partners. It was Gimelstob's ninth double success of his career and the second for Humphries.
