The Tennis Masters Series Cincinnati 2000 was the 99th edition of the hard court tournament in Cincinnati . As a Masters tournament, the tournament was part of the male ATP series , with prize money for both single and double tournaments being $ 2,950,000. It took place from August 7th to 14th, 2000.

Defending champion in the men's singles was the American Pete Sampras , who was eliminated in the 3rd round against Tim Henman this year . Henman, on the other hand, only had to admit defeat to the Swede Thomas Enqvist in the final . This was Enqvist's first title of the season and his third overall in a Masters tournament of his career.

In doubles, the Australian pairing Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge succeeded last year's winners Jonas Björkman and Byron Black . Black did not appear this year and Björkman reached the quarter-finals with this year's partner Max Mirny .
