The Kroger St. Jude Championships 2000 were the 25th edition of the tennis hard court indoor tournament in Memphis . Together with the tournament in Rotterdam, it was the first tournament of the International Series Gold and thus part of the male ATP series . It took place from February 14th to 20th, 2000. The prize money was $ 700,000 for both the singles and doubles tournaments. 48 players competed against each other in singles and 24 pairings in doubles. All seeded players and pairings received a bye into the second round.

The defending champion of the individual competition was the German Tommy Haas , who failed in the semifinals this year in second place. The winner was the Swede Magnus Larsson , for whom it was the seventh and last title of his career. It was Larsson's first tournament success after winning the Grand Slam Cup in 1994.

In doubles, the pairing of three seeded Justin Gimelstob and Sébastien Lareau won , succeeding the Australians Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge . The defending champions did not take part this year. For Gimelstob and Lareau it was the second joint tournament victory. For Gimelstob it was the 8th double success of his career, for Lareau the 15th.
