Defending champion in the singles was the German Tommy Haas , who was eliminated this year as three seeded in the round of 16. In the final, the unseeded Steve Darcis won against Robin Söderling in two sets with 6: 3 and 7: 6 5 . In doubles, Eric Butorac and Jamie Murray were the defending champions. Both competed this year with different partners and were eliminated in the first round. This year Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles won the title. They prevailed in the final against the twins Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana with 7: 6 5 and 6: 2.
The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 769,000, as was total financial liabilities.
The qualification took place from February 24th to 25th, 2008. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
The following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who passed the qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise, the amounts are not cumulative (amounts for the double competition per team).
