Alex Kuznetsov (born February 5, 1987 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former American tennis player .

Career

In his career, Kuznetsov won eleven tournaments on the ATP Challenger Tour , five in singles and six in doubles. He made his debut on the ATP World Tour thanks to a wildcard in 2005 at the Masters in Indian Wells . There he lost to Rainer Schüttler 4: 6, 3: 6 in the opening round . In Grand Slam tournaments he was only able to reach the second round in seven main field participations in Melbourne at the Australian Open 2007 . In doubles, he also achieved his best result in 2007 at the US Open , when he again advanced to the round of 16 with a wildcard alongside Jesse Levine .
