The Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place from December 31, 2007 to January 5, 2008 in Doha . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week were in Adelaide , the Next Generation Adelaide International and in Chennai , the Chennai Open played that just like the Qatar ExxonMobil Open for the category International Series count.

Ivan Ljubičić was the defending champion in the singles and was eliminated in the semifinals against Stanislas Wawrinka this year . This was defeated in the final by Andy Murray , third in the seeding list, in three sets 6: 4, 4: 6 and 6: 2, with which Murray won his first title in Doha. In doubles, Nenad Zimonjić and Michail Juschny were successful in the previous year . Only Zimonjić appeared again this year and was eliminated in the quarterfinals. In the final, Philipp Kohlschreiber and David Škoch prevailed against Jeff Coetzee and Wesley Moodie 6: 4, 4: 6 and [11: 9].

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 1,024,000 and total financial liabilities were $ 1,049,000.

The qualification took place from December 29th to 31st, 2007. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
