The Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place from July 7th to 13th, 2008 in Gstaad . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on sand. The same week the Catella Swedish Open was played in Båstad , the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport and the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart . The latter was part of the International Series Gold , while the tournaments in Gstaad, Newport and Båstad were part of the International Series .

Paul-Henri Mathieu was the defending champion in the singles, but this year he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Marin Čilić . In the final, the unseeded Victor Hănescu won in two sets 6: 3, 6: 4 against the seven seeded Igor Andrejew and won his first title on the ATP Tour. In doubles, František Čermák and Pavel Vízner were successful last year, this year they were eliminated as the first seeding list in the semi-finals. In the final Jaroslav Levinský and Filip Polášek prevailed against the local heroes Stéphane Bohli and Stanislas Wawrinka with 3: 6, 6: 2, [11: 9].

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 368,000 euros and the total financial liabilities were 389,000 euros.

The qualification took place from July 5th to 6th, 2008. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
