The J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad 2018 was a tennis tournament that took place in Gstaad from July 23 to 29, 2018 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2018 and was played outdoors on sand. In the same week the BB&T Atlanta Open and the German Tennis Championships in Hamburg were played in Atlanta . The latter belong to the ATP World Tour 500 category , while the other two tournaments belong to the lower endowed ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in the singles was Fabio Fognini . Oliver Marach and Philipp Oswald were successful in doubles last year.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each received a bye in the first round. The total prize money was 501,345 euros; the total financial liabilities were 561,345 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place on July 21 and 22, 2018. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There were also two lucky losers.
