The German Tennis Championships 2018 were a tennis tournament that took place from July 23 to 29, 2018 in Hamburg . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2018 and was played outdoors on sand. In the same week were in Atlanta , the BB & T Atlanta Open and in Gstaad , the J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad played. In contrast to the German Open German Tennis Championships, which belong to the ATP World Tour 500 category, these only count towards the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champions were Leonardo Mayer in singles and Ivan Dodig and Mate Pavić in doubles.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 1,619,935 euros; the financial obligations amounted to 1,753,255 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place on July 21 and 22, 2018. Four qualifying places were played out in singles and one in doubles, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
