The 43rd International Tennis Championships of Germany took place from August 9 to August 14, 1949 on the Rothenbaum in Hamburg .

Participants from nine countries came together at this tournament and with the Argentine María Weiss and the Australian Jack Harper in the men's doubles, there were also two foreign winners. Gottfried von Cramm dominated the men once again , winning the singles and doubles together with Harper.
