Defending champion in the singles was Nikolai Dawydenko , who was eliminated in the round of 16 against Andrei Golubew , who won the tournament this year. In the final he beat Jürgen Melzer in two sets 6: 3 and 7: 5. This was Golubev's first victory on the ATP World Tour. Simon Aspelin and Paul Hanley defended their title in doubles, but they were eliminated in the quarterfinals. The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 48 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs.
