Defending champion in the individual competition was the Serb Novak Đoković , but he failed this already in the second round to Michaël Llodra . In addition to Đoković (2009), four former winners of the Paris Masters took part in the tournament: David Nalbandian (2007), Nikolai Dawydenko (2006) and Tomáš Berdych (2005). In the final, the Swede Robin Söderling prevailed in two sets with 6: 1, 7: 6 1 against the Frenchman Gaël Monfils . It was his second title that season, and the sixth overall. For the first time Söderling was able to win a Masters tournament.
The Canadian Daniel Nestor and the Serbian Nenad Zimonjić competed in doubles to defend their titles. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals. The final was won by the Indian / Belarusian couple consisting of Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirny in two sets against the Bahamian / Israeli team consisting of Mark Knowles and Andy Ram . For both of them it was their first title of the season and their seventh joint tournament victory.
The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 48 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 24 pairs. The 16 top seeded players in singles and the eight top seeded pairings in doubles each received a bye into the second round. The total prize money was 2,227,500 euros; the total financial liabilities were 2,750,000 euros.
The qualification took place from November 5th to 6th, 2010. Six qualifying places that entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament were played out. There was also a lucky loser.
The following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round.
