The Brasil Open 2010 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 8th to 14th, 2010 in Costa do Sauípe . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2010 and was played outdoors on a clay court. In the same week the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament was played in Rotterdam and the SAP Open in San José . The latter, like the Brasil Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category , while the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Defending champion in the singles was Tommy Robredo , who no longer took part in the tournament this year. Juan Carlos Ferrero was able to win the individual competition, in the final he defeated Poland's Łukasz Kubot 6: 1, 6: 0. He celebrated his 13th individual title in his career. In doubles, Marcel Granollers and Tommy Robredo were the defending champions, but they no longer competed together. While Robredo did not take part, Granollers played together with Pablo Cuevas and won the final against the Polish duo Łukasz Kubot and Oliver Marach in straight sets 7: 5 and 6: 4.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. Total prize money was $ 442,500 and total financial liabilities were $ 500,000.

qualification

The qualification took place from February 6th to 8th, 2010. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
