In the final, David Nalbandian , who started with a wildcard , defeated Marcos Baghdatis , who was eighth ; the triumph in Washington was Nalbandian's first title of the year and the eleventh of his career. In doubles, Martin Damm and Robert Lindstedt were the defending champions, but they didn't compete this year either. In the final Mardy Fish and Mark Knowles prevailed against Tomáš Berdych and Radek Štěpánek . The victory in Washington is the second joint title.
The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 48 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The 16 top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize pool was $ 1,165,500; total financial liabilities were $ 1,402,000.
The qualification took place from July 30th to August 1st 2010. Six qualifying places that entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament were played out.
