The Legg Mason Tennis Classic 2010 was a tennis tournament held from July 31st to August 8th, 2010 in Washington, DC . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2010 and was played outdoors on hard courts. The tournament was part of the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Defending champion in the singles was Juan Martín del Potro , who did not take part in the tournament this year. In the final, David Nalbandian , who started with a wildcard , defeated Marcos Baghdatis , who was eighth ; the triumph in Washington was Nalbandian's first title of the year and the eleventh of his career. In doubles, Martin Damm and Robert Lindstedt were the defending champions, but they didn't compete this year either. In the final Mardy Fish and Mark Knowles prevailed against Tomáš Berdych and Radek Štěpánek . The victory in Washington is the second joint title.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 48 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The 16 top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize pool was $ 1,165,500; total financial liabilities were $ 1,402,000.
