The Proton Malaysia Open 2010 was a tennis tournament that took place from September 27th to October 3rd, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur . They were part of the ATP World Tour 2010 and were played indoors on a hard court. In the same week, the Thailand Open was played in Bangkok , which, like the Proton Malaysian Open, was part of the ATP World Tour 250 .

Defending champion in the singles was Nikolai Dawydenko , but this year he was eliminated in the round of 16. The winner was Michail Juschny , who prevailed 6: 7 7 , 6: 2, 7: 6 3 against Andrei Golubew in the final . After the title in Munich, he won his second title of the year and his sixth career title. In doubles, Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski were the defending champions, they lost in this year's final against František Čermák and Michal Mertiňák , who won their sixth joint title.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each received a bye in the first round. The total prize pool was $ 850,000 and total financial liabilities were $ 947,750.
