Tomasz Bednarek [ ˈtɔmaʂ bɛˈdnarɛk ] (born November 12, 1981 in Pabianice ) is a Polish tennis player .

Career

Bednarek is considered a double specialist and often plays alongside his compatriot Mateusz Kowalczyk . He has won 14 double titles on the Challenger Tour so far . In 2010 he moved to the final of the tournament in Belgrade with Kowalczyk , but there they lost to Santiago González and Travis Rettenmaier . In the same year he made his Grand Slam debut at the French Open with Kowalczyk . There they were eliminated in the first round as well as shortly afterwards in Wimbledon . He achieved his best Grand Slam result in 2013 at the French Open when he made it to the quarter-finals. In the same year he moved into the finals in Stuttgart and Bangkok . The following season he reached his fourth final on the World Tour in Casablanca . In April 2014, he was listed at 44th place in the world rankings, his best ranking so far.
