Vasilis Mazarakis (born February 9, 1980 in Athens ) is a former Greek tennis player .

Career

Mazarakis was able to score especially on the Future and Challenger Tour . He won six singles titles on the Challenger Tour and three more doubles. He achieved his greatest success on the ATP World Tour in Buenos Aires in 2006 when he advanced to the finals with Boris Pašanski . There they were defeated by the Czech duo František Čermák and Leoš Friedl, however, 1: 6, 2: 6. In Grand Slam tournaments , he never managed to qualify for the main field.

In 2004 he took part in the Olympic Games in Athens . He competed in doubles with his partner Konstantinos Economidis , but they failed in the opening round. With 1: 6, 3: 6 they were defeated by the Czechs Cyril Suk and Martin Damm .

Mazarakis played ten games between 2000 and 2005 for the Greek Davis Cup team and played 19 games. Both in singles with 8: 6 and in doubles with 3: 2, his balance is positive.
