Pijus Bielskus
Pijus Bielskus (born January 11, 1880 in Balsupiai , Marijampolė district , † July 16, 1958 in Kaunas , Lithuanian SSR ) was a Catholic priest, philosopher, professor, chancellor of the Lithuanian presidency.
Life
He studied at Keturvalakiai Elementary School, Marijampolė High School , Sejny Seminary and was ordained a priest in 1903. From 1904 to 1910 studied abroad: three years in Switzerland and two in Belgium (Uni Leuven ), where he received his doctorate.
From 1910 he was a professor at the Sejny seminary . In 1920 he became a consultant in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania . From 1921 headed the chancellery of the Lithuanian President.
