Jan Mertl (born January 3, 1982 in Ústí nad Labem , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech tennis player .

Career

Jan Mertl mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far, he has celebrated 14 single and 12 double victories on the ITF Future Tour. So far, he has won the doubles competition on the ATP Challenger Tour. At the side of the Kazakhs Yuri Schtschukin he won the 2010 tournament in Kazan , where they defeated the German duo Tobias Kamke and Julian Reister in the final .

On March 6, 2006, he broke through the top 200 in the world rankings for the first time in singles and his highest ranking was 163rd in July 2007. In doubles, he broke through the top 200 for the first time on July 10, 2006 and reached the 131st place as the best June 2007.
