Si Yew-Ming (born August 24, 1979 in Johor ) is a Malaysian tennis player .

Career

Si played on the Junior Tour up to and including 1997 and achieved his highest ranking with rank 145.

After that he didn't play any professional tournaments at first. Instead, he was appointed to the Malaysian Davis Cup team for the first time in 1999 , where he did not lose any of his four matches and thus contributed to promotion to Continental Group II. During his time as an active, Si often played for his country and set several records. He participated in most of the matches (45) and won most of the matches in singles, doubles and with 43 wins overall. The team almost always went up and down between continental groups II and III.

The Malaysian played his first professional tournaments in 2002 on the ITF Future Tour . In the same year he was also placed in the tennis world rankings for the first time . 2003 was his best year in singles and doubles. He reached place 804 in singles and 606 in doubles. In the following years he was rarely even listed in the ranking. He got his only appearance on the ATP World Tour in singles 2010 in Kuala Lumpur thanks to a wildcard , where he lost a lot at the beginning. In doubles in 2009, 2011 and 2012 he also appeared through wildcards.

To date, Si is the most successful Malaysian tennis player and one of the few who ever won an ATP match - albeit in the qualification. He last started in a tournament in 2013.
