Laurent Recouderc (born July 10, 1984 in Toulouse ) is a former French - Andorran tennis player .

Career

Junior tennis

Recouderc caused a stir for the first time in his junior career when he reached the final with a wildcard at the French Open in 2002 . After a first round win against Tomáš Berdych , he defeated number 1 seeded Swede Robin Söderling 6: 4, 6: 2. He benefited from a rain break of several hours when the score was 3: 2 for Söderling. In the quarterfinals he got the upper hand against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with 2: 6, 6: 0, 6: 3, then he threw Andreas Seppi out of the tournament with 7: 6 (5), 1: 6, 6: 4. Only in the final was Recouderc stopped by his compatriot Richard Gasquet , who clearly won 6-0, 6-1.

Professional career since 2003

In 2003 Recouderc started his professional career. Since then he has mainly taken part in Future and Challenger tournaments. He celebrated his first Challenger win in June 2008 in Bytom when he defeated the Spaniard Pablo Santos González in straight sets. He repeated this success in 2009 with a victory over Jan Hájek ; in the same year he also won the tournament in Rabat , where he prevailed in the final against Santiago Ventura .

In Grand Slam tournaments he was in the main field four times. He celebrated his greatest success as a professional in 2007 at the French Open when he beat the top 100 player Sam Querrey in five sets as a qualifier in the first round. The following encounter he lost in four sets against the later semi-finalist Novak Đoković . In 2008 he got a wildcard for the US Open , but was defeated by Luxembourg's Gilles Müller in four sets. At the French Open 2010 , his last Grand Slam participation, Recouderc ended in the first round; he was eliminated in three sets against the later finalist Robin Soderling. In doubles he was able to advance to the round of 16 alongside Thierry Ascione . In 2015 he played a professional tournament for the last time.

In the 2nd tennis Bundesliga he plays for the TC Blau-Weiss Berlin in the 2nd tennis Bundesliga .
