Franco Ferreiro (born July 1, 1984 in Uruguaiana ) is a former Brazilian tennis player .
Career
Franco Ferreiro became a professional tennis player in 2002. From the beginning he played more and more in doubles, in the course of time he became a doubles specialist - he rarely plays in singles, at Grand Slam tournaments he was only able to qualify once ( Roland Garros 2009 ). He celebrated his first title at future level in Mexico in 2003 , and his first tournament win on the ATP Challenger Tour took place in Turin in 2005 . In 2010 Ferreiro increased his form noticeably and was able to win a total of eight titles on the Challenger Tour, five of them with his current regular partner André Sá .
The breakthrough came in the 2011 season on the ATP Tour : with his compatriot Sá he reached his first ATP final in Buenos Aires in February ; The two were subject to the duo Oliver Marach / Leonardo Mayer . After participating in the finals, Ferreiro reached his previous career high with 53rd place in the double tennis world rankings . In August 2011 he reached his second tour final in Kitzbühel , again at the side of André Sá; they were narrowly defeated by the Italian-Mexican duo Daniele Bracciali / Santiago González .
