Adrián Menéndez Maceiras (born October 28, 1985 in Marbella ) is a Spanish tennis player .

life and career

Menéndez has won ten titles on the ATP Challenger Tour so far, one in singles and nine more in doubles. The Spaniard won his first six doubles titles on clay, the other three and his singles title in Pozoblanco on hard court.

On the ATP World Tour he has only been able to qualify for a main field a few times, more and more in 2015 at the Claro Open Colombia and the Miami Open . As a result, he was able to work his way up to his highest individual placement (111) this year.

In 2012 Grand Slam tournaments at Wimbledon he qualified for the main draw for the first time. His opening game against Michael Craig Russell , another qualifier, he lost in three straight sets. A year later at the Australian Open , he was eliminated again in the opening round. In 2015 in Wimbledon , he also had his premiere in doubles at a Grand Slam tournament, but again he did not get past the first round.
