Guillermo Alcaide was already successful as a junior and reached the semi-finals of the doubles competition at the 2004 Wimbledon Championships . His best result was a combined 9th place. On the professional tour he mainly played tournaments of the third class ITF Future Tour and the second class ATP Challenger Tour . On the Future Tour he won five singles and three doubles titles in his career. He made his debut on the ATP World Tour in Barcelona in 2008 . He received a wildcard for the double competition with Albert Montañés and lost to Juan Ignacio Chela and Pablo Cuevas in three sets. The following year, Alcaide returned to Barcelona with a wild card. This time his first round match was more successful, he was able to defeat the duo Stephen Huss and Ross Hutchins with his compatriot Alberto Martín . In the second round they had to admit defeat Bruno Soares and Kevin Ullyett in two sets.
In 2010 Alcaide made his Grand Slam debut. After he failed in qualifying at the French Open , he successfully qualified for the individual field at the Wimbledon Championships . In the first round he met the seeded Gilles Simon , to whom he lost in three sets. In November 2010, with a 195th place, he made it into the top 200 for the first time and thus his most successful placement in the world rankings . In 2011 he celebrated his greatest triumph on the Challenger Tour when he won the double title in Casablanca together with Adrián Menéndez . He played tennis regularly until 2011 before retiring from his career. Until 2015 he only played a few future tournaments.
Alcaide was in the squad for RC Herpersdorf in 2008 , but did not play a game in the 2nd Bundesliga because the team withdrew before the start of the season. In 2011 and 2012 he played in the 2nd tennis Bundesliga for TV Reutlingen .
