The 56th International Tennis Championships in Germany took place from July 30th to August 7th, 1962 on the Rothenbaum in Hamburg .
The defending champion Rod Laver and the now married Sandra Price prevailed again. For them it was the third win in a row. In the doubles competitions there were only Australian victories, with Bob Hewitt defending his title in men's doubles and Lesley Turner won in both women's doubles and mixed. As in the previous year , Wilhelm Bungert reached the men's semi-finals. Nine years after her last victory in 1953, the American Dorothy Knode took part again in Hamburg.
