The defending champion Renáta Tomanová also lost in the women's final against the British Sue Barker, who appeared for the first time in Hamburg . The doubles competitions went to the Americans Fred McNair and Sherwood Stewart and the South Africans Linky Boshoff and Ilana Kloss . In the individual, the Austrian Hans Kary reached the semi-finals.
