The 57th International Tennis Championships in Germany took place from August 5 to August 13, 1963 on the Rothenbaum in Hamburg .

The defending champions Rod Laver and Sandra Price had not started again. Laver had turned pro and Price had ended her international tennis career. This time their compatriots Martin Mulligan and Renée Schuurman were able to prevail. The men's doubles were won again by the 1961 winners Bob Hewitt and Fred Stolle , who was also successful in mixed alongside Lesley Turner . For Hewitt it was the third win in a row. Margaret Hunt and Annette van Zyl won their first title in Hamburg in the women's doubles . For the third time in a row, only players from Australia and South Africa won these championships.

In the women's category, Edda Buding reached the semi-finals. The biggest surprise was the opening defeat of Wilhelm Bungert against the 15-year-old Egyptian Ismail El Shafei .
