The German Tennis Championships 2017 were a tennis tournament that took place from July 24th to 30th, 2017 in Hamburg . It was part of the 2017 ATP World Tour and was played outdoors on sand. In the same week were in Atlanta , the BB & T Atlanta Open and in Gstaad , the J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad played. However, in contrast to the German Open German Tennis Championships, which belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category, these only belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champions were Martin Kližan in singles and Henri Kontinen and John Peers in doubles.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 1,499,940 euros; the financial obligations amounted to 1,629,375 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place on July 22nd and 23rd, 2017. Four qualifying places were played out in singles and one in doubles, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There were also two lucky losers in the singles.
