The BB&T Atlanta Open 2017 was a tennis tournament that took place in Atlanta from July 24th to 30th, 2017 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2017 and was played on hard court. In the same week, the J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad took place in Gstaad , which, like the BB&T Atlanta Open, were part of the ATP World Tour 250 , and in Hamburg the German Tennis Championships , which were part of the ATP World Tour 500 category .

The defending champions were Nick Kyrgios in singles and Andrés Molteni and Horacio Zeballos in doubles .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round. The total prize pool was $ 642,750; total financial liabilities were $ 720,410.

The qualification took place from July 22nd to 23rd, 2017. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
