The 116th French Open was a tennis - Grand Slam tournament that between 28 May and 11 June 2017 Paris took place.
Defending champion in the singles was Novak Đoković for the men and Garbiñe Muguruza for the women. In the men's doubles these were Feliciano López and Marc López , in the ladies doubles Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic and in the mixed Martina Hingis and Leander Paes .
With Rafael Nadal's victory in men's singles and his 15th Grand Slam title, he rose to second place in the list of winners in the Grand Slam tournaments behind Roger Federer (20) and ahead of Pete Sampras (14).
Prize money
The prize money this year was 36,000,000 euros, an increase of 12% over the previous year.
