The BMW Open 2017 (officially: BMW Open by FWU AG ) was a tennis tournament that took place in Munich from May 1 to 7, 2017 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2017 and was played outdoors on a clay court. In the same week, the TEB BNP Paribas İstanbul Open was played in Istanbul and the Millennium Estoril Open in Estoril , which, like the BMW Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in singles was Philipp Kohlschreiber , in doubles it was the pairing of Henri Kontinen and John Peers .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round. The total prize money was 482,060 euros; the total financial liabilities were 540,310 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place from April 29-30, 2017. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
