The China Open 2017 was a tennis tournament that took place in Beijing from October 2-8, 2017 . It is part of the ATP World Tour 2017 and was played outdoors on a hard court. In the same week the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships were played in Tokyo , which, like the China Open, belong to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Defending champions were Andy Murray in singles and Pablo Carreño Busta and Rafael Nadal in doubles .

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs.

qualification

The qualification took place on September 30th and October 1st, 2017. Four qualifying places in the individual competition and one place in the doubles competition were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
