The China Open 2011 was a tennis tournament that took place from October 3rd to 9th, 2011 in Beijing . It was part of the 2011 ATP World Tour and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week, the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships were played in Tokyo , which, like the China Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Last year's individual winner Novak Đoković canceled his participation this year due to injury. In the final, Tomáš Berdych prevailed against Marin Čilić in three sets . This was his first ATP title in over two years. In doubles, Bob and Mike Bryan went on to defend their title, but they were eliminated in the semifinals against Michaël Llodra and Nenad Zimonjić . They then defeated Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecău in the final and thus won their third joint title this season.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was $ 2,100,000; total financial liabilities were $ 3,336,500.
