The defending champion in the singles was Robin Söderling . In doubles Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjić were the defending champions, but they did not compete together this year. Söderling was able to win the title again in 2011, defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final . It was his eighth of ten titles. Zimonjić also reached the double final again together with Michaël Llodra , but had to admit defeat to Jürgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner . They won their third joint title.
The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 1,150,000 euros, the total financial liabilities were 1,445,000 euros.
The qualification took place from February 5th to 6th, 2011. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
The following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who moved into the main draw via qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round.
