The Heineken Open 2011 was a tennis tournament that took place from January 8th to 15th, 2011 in Auckland . It was part of the 2011 ATP World Tour and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week, the Medibank International Sydney was played in Sydney , which, like the Heineken Open, was part of the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Defending champion in the singles was John Isner , who was eliminated in the quarter-finals this year. The winner was David Ferrer , who prevailed against David Nalbandian in the final . In doubles, Marcus Daniell and Horia Tecau were the defending champions, but this year they competed with other partners. The winners Marcel Granollers and Tommy Robredo , which ATP title could celebrate their second together.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize pool was $ 398,250 and total financial liabilities were $ 450,000.

The qualification took place from January 6th to 8th, 2011. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
