The defending champion in the singles was Mardy Fish , who had canceled his participation this year because he competed for the USA in the Davis Cup . In this year's final, the 2.09 meter tall John Isner prevailed in two sets against the almost 40 centimeter shorter Belgian Olivier Rochus . On the way to the second ATP title in his career, the top seeded American didn't drop a sentence. It was the first time since 1976 that the player seeded in first place could win the tournament; Isner thus broke the so-called "casino curse". Defending champions Carsten Ball and Chris Guccione did not compete in doubles either. The winners were Matthew Ebden and Ryan Harrison , with a wildcard had started the tournament. In the final they won against Johan Brunström and Adil Shamasdin . This was the first ATP title in their careers for both players.
