The Hall of Fame Tennis Championships 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place from July 11th to 17th, 2016 in Newport . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played outdoors on grass. In the same week the German Tennis Championships were played in Hamburg and the SkiStar Swedish Open in Båstad . The former belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category , while the tournaments in Båstad and Newport belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champions were Rajeev Ram in singles and Jonathan Marray and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in doubles.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize pool was $ 515,025; the financial commitments were $ 577,860.
