The Moselle Open 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Metz from September 19-25, 2016 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week, the St. Petersburg Open was played in St. Petersburg , which, like the Moselle Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champions were Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in singles and Łukasz Kubot and Édouard Roger-Vasselin in doubles .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.

The qualification took place from September 17th to 18th, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
