In the 2014 season, he managed a series of successes from July when he successively won the Challenger in Scheveningen , Poznan and Tampere . In the 2015 season , Goffin made it to the finals in both 's-Hertogenbosch and Gstaad . He was defeated by Nicolas Mahut in the Netherlands as well as by Dominic Thiem two months later in Gstaad . His best performance in the four Grand Slam tournaments in 2015 was his first round of 16 at Wimbledon . In 2016 he repeated this success not only at Wimbledon , but also at the Australian Open . 2019 began for Goffin with a success in doubles: at the season opener tournament in Doha he and Pierre-Hugues Herbert won the doubles competition with a final victory against Matwé Middelkoop and Robin Haase , which was Goffin's first double title on the World Tour. In individual, he recorded third round participation in the Australian Open and the French Open in the first half of the season , he also reached the semifinals at the ATP tournaments in Marseille and Estoril . Davis Cup
In 2012 he was appointed to the Belgian Davis Cup team for the first time . In Belgium's 2014 relegation game in the Davis Cup world group , David Goffin played a key role in the 3-2 victory over Ukraine with two individual victories.
