Castel di Casio is an Italian municipality ( Italian comune ) with 3371 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 45 kilometers southwest of Bologna . In the eastern municipality is the Lago di Suviana reservoir and the municipality is part of the Parco regional dei laghi Suviana e Brasimone . Castel di Casio borders the province of Pistoia . The eastern border of the municipality is the Reno . A partnership exists with Camaiore in Tuscany .
