San Pietro in Casale is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 12,664 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 21 kilometers north of Bologna and about 23 kilometers southwest of Ferrara .
