The Province of Pistoia (Italian Provincia di Pistoia ) is an Italian province in the Tuscany region . It has 293,059 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in 20 municipalities on an area of 965 km². The capital is Pistoia .
The province borders in the north on the Emilia-Romagna region ( province of Modena and metropolitan city of Bologna ), in the east on the province of Prato , in the south on the metropolitan city of Florence and in the west on the province of Lucca .
