Yannick Mertens (born June 25, 1987 in Anderlecht ) is a Belgian tennis player .

Career

Yannick Mertens mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far, he has celebrated 16 single and eight double titles on the Future Tour. He has not yet achieved such success on the Challenger Tour, but reached the finals of the doubles competition in Mons in 2010 and in Istanbul in 2011 .

He made his debut on the ATP World Tour in Marseille in 2010 when he played his way into the main draw via the qualifying rounds. There he met Jan Hájek in the first round , whom he defeated in two sets and thus advanced to the round of 16, where he lost in three sets to Guillaume Rufin, who had started with a wildcard in the main field .
