- 524 : The Battle of Vézeronce takes place in the Burgundian War . After the victory of the Burgundian troops under Godomar II and the death of their King Chlodomer , the Franks withdraw from Burgundy .
- 841 : Charles the Bald and Ludwig the German defeat their brother Lothar I at the Battle of Fontenoy .
- 1080 : The German King Heinrich IV reacts to the exemption from church which Pope Gregory VII once again imposed on him in the investiture dispute by calling on Clemens III at the synod in Brixen . as an antipope.
- 1183 : The Peace of Constance between Emperor Friedrich I Barbarossa and the northern Italian cities makes the Lombard League permanent. Milan gains a supremacy within the federal government.
- 1525 : After the farmers surrendered the day before in the Battle of Pfeddersheim in the Palatinate Peasants' War , the non-Palatinate farmers are ordered to leave the imperial city of Pfeddersheim unarmed . Around 3,000 people followed the request. It is linked to the condition not to flee. When there were attempts to escape, the troops of Elector Ludwig V set up a bloodbath among the rebels that cost 800 their lives.
