Dietrich von Waldeck

Dietrich von Waldeck (* around 1316; † June 25, 1355 ) was provost in the diocese of Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Dietrich von Waldeck was born the son of Heinrich von Waldeck and his wife Adelheid von Kleve and came from the ancient Westphalian noble family von Waldeck . He had three sisters and three brothers, including Otto and Heinrich .

Career and work

Dietrich studied canon law in Orléans and was in 1336 in Cologne präbendiert . Two years later he received a prebend in Münster . Appointed cathedral cantor in 1344, he resigned his offices in 1346, but was replaced by Pope Clement VI. reinstated his offices in the same year. On May 30, 1346 he received a prebend in Mainz. He took his oath as provost on July 24, 1348. He stayed in this office until 1353, when his successor Everhard von Vechtorp entered.
