Bernd Metzke

Bernd Metzke (born June 25, 1966 in Belzig , Potsdam district , GDR ) is a former German handball player .

The 1.91 meter tall left winger played for TSV Chemie Premnitz from 1976 , moved to ASK Vorwärts Frankfurt / Oder in 1980 and played for TURU Düsseldorf from 1990 to 1997 .

In the squad of the GDR men's national handball team , Metzke played at the 1988 Olympics , where he played four games for the GDR team and scored one goal, and at the 1990 World Cup . He played a total of 62 international matches.

Metzke completed an apprenticeship as an insurance broker and today (2019) heads an insurance office in Düsseldorf.
