Los Angeles 1984

At the XXIV Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , the handball competitions were held for men and women. The men's Olympic champion was the Soviet team, which had stayed away from the Los Angeles Games four years earlier due to the boycott of the Eastern Bloc countries. The other podium places went to South Korea and defending champion Yugoslavia . In the women's race, South Korea won ahead of Norway and the Soviet Union .
