Peter Pysall (born June 26, 1960 in Heiligenstadt ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player .

Player in the club

Pysall played from 1974 to 1990 at SC Magdeburg and then at SG Leutershausen . His main position was development center, at SCM he was the successor to Ernst Gerlach . His successes as a player in the club include several GDR championship titles with Magdeburg, once he was the GDR cup winner, and in 1981 the European champion cup . With SG Leutershausen he became German runner-up in 1992.

Player in the national team

Peter Pysall played 155 international matches for the GDR national team . With the national team he finished 7th at the World Cup (WM) in 1982 and won the bronze medal at the 1986 World Cup . At the Olympic Games in 1988 he was 7th with the DHV selection, scoring two goals. In 1984 he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold with the national team .

Trainer

Peter Pysall worked as a handball trainer for the clubs SC Magdeburg, TSV Bayer Dormagen , SG Leutershausen, SV Post Schwerin , HSV Insel Usedom and Dessau-Roßlauer HV . In 1996 he won the DHB Cup as an assistant coach at SC Magdeburg . He made promotion to the 1st Bundesliga with TSV Bayer Dormagen in 1998/99 and 2003/04 with SV Post Schwerin . From July 1st, 2012 to November 28th, 2015 he worked for HC Elbflorenz in Dresden. For the 2017/18 season he took over the association league club Glinder HV Eintracht. In 2019, the team was promoted to the Saxony-Anhalt League under his leadership. For the 2020/21 season he will take over the association league club SV Eiche 05 Biederitz.
